Rubber Fitness Bands

Functional Fitness Bands

Easily the most versatile tool for your home gym. These rubber functional fitness bands are great tools for stretching, adding resistance, and providing assistance to more difficult movements and should be part of your home gym. Most exercises can be performed with the red (20-35 lbs) and black band (30-50 lbs) and which is why I recomed starting with these two.

Mini Bands

Perform Better Mini Bands

These versatile mini-bands provide resistance for many of the early exercises I use in my programming. I recomend The Perform Better Mini-Band Pack with four different resistances to give you options depending on the exercise your are performing.

TheraBand CLX Resistance Band 

Another extremely useful band that I use primarily for upper body and shoulder strengthening. The CLX TherBand has less resistance than the rubber functional fitness bands which are better for the smaller muscles of the shoulder. The looped handles make this easier to grip than traditional TheraBand. The green and blue resistance is enough for most exercises.

TRX GO Suspension Trainer

The TRX is an amazing tool that not only provides a large variety of exercises, but can be used initially to add assistance to help you build confidence in certain movements that may be difficult or painful initially. For those who more serious about their home gym – the following items aren’t 100% needed but will allow you to progress your exercise routine and continue to develop your strength.

Set Of Dumbbells

Dumbbells are a great addition to your home gym, allowing you to add resistance to many of the exercises we use to limit pain. I’m old school and like having sets of weights, but adjustable dumbbells are a great way to save on space. Actual weights will depend on your ability level, but I find this set with pairs of 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 lb to be enough for the average adult.

Squat Rack
